Rocket - Own the Dream

Creative Highlight | Super Bowl LIX Ad Trends

Rocket, a major financial and mortgage brand in the U.S., delivered a heartwarming campaign centered on the emotional bond we share with our homes. The commercial features short clips capturing a pregnant woman, children playing in the yard, parents raising their kids, a young couple moving into their new house, a family packing up to relocate, and soldiers returning home after service. These scenes unfold against the backdrop of “Take Me Home, Country Roads”, a song described by American magazine The Atlantic as “a song that can evoke nostalgia even for places you’ve never been.” The song is so widely recognized in the U.S. that most people can sing along after just a few verses. Leveraging this familiarity, Rocket boldly attempted the first-ever singalong Super Bowl ad. While the brand aired a 60-second commercial, it secured a 75-second ad slot, reserving the final 15 seconds to encourage spectators at the stadium to join in the singalong. According to a review by the global ad magazine AdAge, “The reaction at Caesars Superdome seemed muted, but it was still an interesting experiment.” While it may not have been the night’s biggest success, it remains noteworthy for trying something new at the Super Bowl.
